He oversaw the creation of the LLM in Banking & Financial Law Program, the first graduate program in the US to devote itself entirely to the study of banking and financial services law, and the founding of the Public Interest Project (PIP), a student organization created to provide fellowships to first and second-year students working in summer public-interest jobs.Īfter he stepped down as dean, Schwartz remained on the faculty until 1991, when he moved on to Yeshiva University to serve as vice president of academic affairs and professor of property law at the University’s Benjamin N.
